I'm not too sure I like the sound of that... Personally, I honestly LOVED the N900 BECAUSE it was not specific to mainstream. If I ever did want Facebook or Twitter, then I could just install of the apps made by member of this great community. But having it all already pre-installed and integrated part of the OS...sounds too much like WP7/Android/iOS... I really don't like the idea that Nokia wants to promote MeeGo to the general masses as I don't think normal people are just not ready yet for open source

Watched the Video a few times and he says he is not going to show a Windows Phone but he as other innovative hardware on him then he pulled the device from inside his Jacket Pocket.
He also states he's been on the record already stating he uses a Windows Phone on Nokia Hardware but not going to show it..
Even Nokia Conversations say's its Not a Windows Phone.
you can read the article and see the video where he pulls device here

Even Nokia people have stated we will know about the Mystery device in the coming weeks

I cant believe what you have written over here I use n900 and use twitter, fbook, msn, ovi and few others on it and love it. if i can have it all in one place then great.
MeeGo needs to go to what you described as general masses to help it grow and give extra kick to developers.

"Elop: We are now friends with Peter(HTC boss) because they are part of WP ecosystem.
They also do that Android thing, but i only talk to WP side of Peter."

If anything he is 100x times better keynote speaker than OPK.... if that needs much.
