lol this thread is ridiculous.

In two years people in this has whined about n900 sucks cause there is no good facebook/twitter app. Now when it seems the new device has it people complain again because it is integrated.

LMAO

and about no hwkb. I did also want it but we have to get over it. Or wait to someone else make a meego dev with hwkb.

However I doubt we will see any...

Granted, this is not something mainstream would want. They're used to a monopolistic company that tells them what they need and should use.
I thing both yourself and the parent poster completly missed the point.

The fact that Skype was integrated into the N900 didnt mean that I had to enable the skype account at all if I choose not to. Its all plugins based. So if you didnt use Skye it wouldnt show as an ption on the man communication panel.

Same goes with FB and Twitter integration I bet. If I dont use FB, i would not enable that option and hence nothing to bug you all the time. Make your choise. And THEN there may be other 3rd part apps (standalone) which you may choose to install. THAT is choise.
Nokia (Meego) isnt saying you HVE to use the integrated options.

Correct. Integrated doesn't mean forced. It should just mean that it's there if you want to use it. Isn't this what K123 basically is implying anyways? I doubt Nokia Harmattan device will be any different. I don't get how someone could complain about it being integrated here when N900 already is like that. =P

Where's the Quim's, the Peter@Maemo's... eh? Having the wonder-twins of leaked information neither confirm or deny 356+ pages of conversation and lack the ability to do so - NDA, they don't want to leak their source(s), can't take photos, can't measure the screens, can't do anything but hint, what not (keep it coming, it's all we got) - has honestly tempered my willingness to buy into the N9. I'm thinking about what services as well as integration will exist.
Oh come on Gerbick, with that logic you would be loath to buy an Apple device as Steve Jobs and company never give any hints or leas whatsovevr in the rumours forums and MacHead forums before the device is actually announced.

Just because Zeh and some others are hinting about the N9 and there are bloggers writing about the N9 or dismissing it in some way doesnt Mean Nokia's official guys will hop on over and either give credence and shoot out some specs at us or deny it categorically. Never happens that way in any company and ou know it.

The tempering of your willingness to buy a Nokia device has happened much before for other (valid) reasons and it has nothing to do with Nokia not coming out officially before it is announced to confirm r deny the rumours. Thats just sounded ridiculous. This thread is all amusement and you should take it as such. Trying to base your buying judgement based on this thread .... no way.

Quoted for emphasis - this thread is all bread and circuses lol - no way this thread has any useful info

in fact you should AVOID this thread if you intent to evaluate this device objectively for purchase when it is formally released.

You're comparing the ever-present rumors that plague anything Apple related from damn near anybody that wants attention (trust me, they want the attention of being the first to guess something that's close to the truth) to a bunch of talk/rumors from folks that have pretty good access to repositories and developers as well as official Nokia representation (I can't imagine Steve Jobs doing much more than responding with one sentence answers of how folks are holding his creation wrong) and it's the best we can do... only two folks seem to know something?

It's asking for a suspension of disbelief on an order that I'm not accustomed to using with Linux based offerings that are typically more open than Apple's offerings.

Simply stated, open OS, open source developers, open communication. That's highly ideal - and never from Nokia - but yeah. That's what I'm dealing with in terms of what I should and shouldn't believe in.

And drop the Apple comparisons. Not applicable here.

Which part of "I'm patient" doesn't register? We'll see who's right, who's wrong, who was full of crap.

Informed decisions. I live by them. Rumor mongering is fun to watch, I'd rather have reliable information.

Thus my prior statements stands.

They are probably laughing their asses off reading all our crazy speculations and fightings about our wild fantasies...

Actually, I hope they are not wasting their precious times reading any of this! Go work, boys!!!

I hope they would have told us already if the announcement wasn't really close...
