Sorry, I have a lot of things to do
I know contacts sync is buggy. I'm trying to fix it
Adding new functionallity like push names brings new bugs to wazapp. I'm working hard for fixing this.
Also, I need to change the database file to make some things to work better. It's a lot, please be patient.
And remember it's a beta version. Of course it's not 100% stable.
BTW: I've added the account plugin translation project

I have the same problem with the last version (1330):
for install the last version i did:
- killall wapzapp
- rm -rf /home/user/.wazapp
- devel-su ; apt-get remove wapzapp
- pdpkg -i wazapp-01092012-1030.deb
then I open the new version wazapp and sync contact, the application work fine for some minutes, after the applications don't work, no sync (no receive and no send messages).

The 'connecting' issue is the login issue, so it is fixed.
I'm not sure what the latest 'contacts' issue is, but if it was not present in tgalal's 0.2.6 version it is not in this version either.
tried it but the installation ends quickly, no failures reported, no errors, no logs, .wazapp folders or .db files ..& thereafter doesnt load. so i've unistalled & will try an earlier version ...& wont add or synch contacts . .

Since you have tried the recent builds, I suggest making doubly sure you don't have a .db file remaining.
Edit: I have just tested Sync Contacts and was successful, and I have about 300.
