You will need the package telepathy-butterfly.

Just reinstalled (0.7 this time) on my freshly flashed n810. I used this .install file that is inside the deb that is distributed. I did so with out enabling red pill and it worked perfectly (or rather, atleast AIM, link-local and GTalk do. I haven't tested anything else).

Is there any reason they distribute said deb, rather than the .install file? The .deb seems excessive to me.

Hm, ICQ did it again.
Old versions of pidgin and the likes are blocekd from the ICQ network.
This also affects rtcomm (which is built upon the same liboscar).

Can anyone provide an updated liboscar for maemo?

It is a known problem. You can easily fix it by updating to a newer Pidgin, or by hexeditting. On a good distribution they've issued a reliability fix.

I just installed Empathy in Debian. Same problem; Network error. So no, this is a new problem with telepathy-haze, affecting even the "good distributions"

EDIT: Empathy is using telepathy-haze 0.2.1-2 and libpurple0 2.5.4-2

EDIT2: MSN is working fine in Empathy's telepathy-haze plugin. Just ICQ is broken.

Then Debian is slow?

Pidgin itself is fixed, and Pidgin in Ubuntu is fixed. They released both a reliability fix. Other programs using this library will need the fix too. The fix was yesterday in testing state and already in a PPA.

But it is very easy to fix with hex editing. Just Google around.
