You have to either remove your old database by hand (delete .config folder) or add the missing table by hand using sqlite manager firefox plugin if you don't want to rescan your media.

That version supports the cache with the latest client.

Yeah, I kind of thought I had fuxxored things with the newer install, so i deleted the Knots folder entirely, did a complete registry sweep and purge (with apps I use specifically for that purpose), and reinstalled/reconfigured Knots.

That did a LOT to help things, everything is basically peachy now.

So thanks again! And keep up the good work, ukki!!! Knots is the best-kept secret of the N900, I'll say! :^)

Under Linux and the Browser profile, I'm only getting Video, no audio transcoding for me whether through FlowPlayer or opening the stream through VLC.

Your ffmpeg is probably missing libmp3lame support. If your distribution or 3rd party doesn't provide it, you may need to compile ffmpeg yourself if you need the Flash support. But if you use the latest Firefox, Theora profile should work too. For the rest of the profiles, try using mpga as audio codec instead of mp3.

Stream fails to start or the video is just blank, but you can hear audio? If it fails to start, make sure you have the latest VLC and it's detected in the settings. If you get just audio, try switching the profile to Browser on the client.

The video fails to start - no sound or video. I see thumbnails of the video but when I click on them the screen goes blank and after a minute it returns back to the selection page. Changed the profile to browser, tablet, passthrough -- no change.

The path for vlc is present and is the most recent (1.0.5 Goldeneye).

I am bummed .. appreciate any help on this.

Hmm, I can't really think of a reason why it wouldn't work, but have you checked that your firewall doesn't block access to ports 19780-19785 for example?

I just got knots2 running on my suse 11.1 server. it's a pretty old Athlon XP 1700. When i start streaming some videos the cpu process "vlc" goes up to 95 percent wich makes the videos very laggy.

is there something set up wrong or ist the cpu power just too slow?

thx a lot.

CPU is probably too slow, but you can use passthrough profile if the media is something N900 can play. Memory helps too, but I doubt you can watch HD material with that.
