lol, i guess thats how things work with Nokia. So for them,"today" means months from now. I can see why PR1.2 has been delayed...

It's really irritating. if it's not out in July or early August i will probally buy some a bit cheaper Android phone as my secondary phone till harmattan phone comes out later this year.

N8 would be just the thing i'm looking thought.

I'm wondering how the release will be like. I'd almost bet things would be like with the N900 release: No specific dates other than "Sometimes around Qx 2010", hotliners who give out different informations everytime you call and stores who know nothing at all. Wish Nokia would finally manage to pin down international release dates instead of all around random shipping of new devices.

Also most retailers got the N900 really late, local Nokia shops recieved their first N900s sometime in january this year. The online hardware shop where I order most of my stuff couldn't tell me last year when they would get their first charge: "November maybe... december, but it might be as late until january. Sorry we can't tell, Nokia doesn't get any information out." and that was at a time where you could almost get it on Nokias online store. That is not how a good release looks like and I can only hope for Nokia that the N8's release will look better.

Definitely get out and take a look at it in real life. AMOLED is just a class in itself for color saturation and black levels. It would never replace a n900 for me (no keyboard, no linux).

make me a N901 = 50+ keys, 800x480 AMOLED with resisitive screen (or capacitive stylus), dual-core Cortex A9, a couple of microsd slots, hdmi out, 720p hw playback and open dsp-based sound backend (edit) and 2400mAh battery...

Benchmarks from Arabnokia.net. Don't understand arabic, but arabic numbers are universal.

Those numbers look what was rumoured around n8 announcement. Decent CPU + great GPU.

http://mynokiablog.com has N8 gaming screenshots. link

Best of all these arent's iPhone ports, but done to take full adavantage of N8's hardware.

I had some apprehension that due to the screen ratio of the game originally developed on iPhone, there would be some black bars as suggested by the trailer demo. But no, it runs in full screen. Jurgen did mention in our first meeting that these weren’t just ports, but were tailor made to take advantage of what the N8 has to offer. So, higher resolution, true widescreen gaming
