I'm not defending anyone here, but most people do not know the context of that statement. The statement "Mission Accomplished" was for the Iraqi Freedom campaign. To which the campaign's mission was accomplished. The speech was in the transition period between the end of the Iraqi Freedom campaign and start the Enduring Freedom Campaign. Unfortunately, most people (especially the media) took this statement as meaning that the whole mission was accomplished (All military campaigns) and assumed that we were pulling out. Honestly, It an easy mistake to make if you were not raised in a military family that educated you on military history.
Anyhow, I did not mean to hijack the thread. I saw an opportunity to provide some history for people who do not know any different.
