wasn't giving up on you.. just went home for the day from work. Is this an N800 or an N810?

Not sure why it would be giving you a format problem on the new card..

i assume it can get annoying to deal with all this. to me i enjoy it but i don't know what its like to deal with this as often as you may. ok so all i bought was a simple scan disk at best buy, it is read, i can place documents into it and i can use them, so i don't think its the memory card. i notice when i put the ''install tools'' in documents it says 3.7mb but when i go to install it it will say 5.0mb. it works till it goes to the memory card and then suddenly my card is unusable. i've put the operating system on like 5/6 times today can't be that, when i reload the diablo i start with 109mb in device memory and with every attempt i make with the failed installs the memory goes down a few mb's.
if i go to application manager anduninstall the ''install tools'' the device memory doesn't change (even after a reboot), all i could do to revive my dev mem was to reinstall diablo.

In the application manager go into Tools -> Log and clear it.. then try and install.. when it fails go back into the log and show us the output here so we can see what is going on.

Hey guys, I'd like your input and advice on this....

On my N810 I'm running chinook, cloned to the internal built-in 2gig SD card using penguinbait's deb. I'm on the fence with diablo. I'd like to install diablo on the internal flash and keep my existing chinook install on the internal 2gig, then dual boot between the two. Can I do this? What's the best way? Input and suggestions are welcomed.

I've looked through this entire thread and i haven't really found something that's quite like my problem.

I just bought a new N810 and am currently using this deb to clone my Chinook firmware to the N810's internal memory card.

Now, i've gotten install tools to work (clean Chinook flash, no virtual memory, uninstalled maps and tutorial, deleted stuff in Documents/images, formatted the internal memory card, removed external memory card), where I install it (fails), reboot, and install again where it successfully updates install tools.

Bootmenu shows up perfectly fine, flash has Linus talking to me, SD boot works perfectly fine... EXCEPT
Instead of having 1.5 gigs of free space on SD boot, i have 620 megs of free space on Device Memory and 119.3 megs left on internal memory card. I want to install KDE to the SD boot, but since it needs 1.35 gigs, it isn't working...

This is like the 4th or 5th time I've reflashed/reinstalled install tools, and it still shows the same thing... Its strange, cause the second time i did clone to SD, i was using chinook as well and it showed i had 1.33 gigs of free space, so i figured i should delete some of the extra junk before cloning, hence fresh firmware flash (going up to Diablo as well), but instead of getting more free space, i suddenly lost 700 megs worth of space. Since i figured I got 1.33 gigs with chinook, i guessed it was a issue of Diablo cloning taking more space so i went back and reflashed back to chinook + etc, and lo and behold, even my chinook sd clone copy only has less than 700 MB worth of Device Memory

Memory Management (yeah, seems like people say this utility in control panel is crap, but its all i have right now) just tells me that i have 620 MB of free space on Device memory, and that i have "1.02 GB Installed applications"... despite xterminal being the only thing shown in application manager.

any idea what's going on here? I can't think of anything beside there being excess data not being flashed or formatted and its taking up space on my drive, but I have no idea how to look at or remove something that escapes flashing/formatting ?_? I was thinking the issue is caused by me trying to install penguinbait's KDE deb v4 with having 1.33 GB of space and it leaving behind ghost files, but I have no idea how to confirm that either...

Been trying to set this up for a few days now (mainly flash->clone-> WHY NOT BIG ENOUGH rage, try again tomorrow), and its really irking me. Any help would be wonderful! Thanks in advance =P
