could you please show me the first few lines of /sbin/preinit
there should be a line
MODULE_PATH=/lib/modules/`uname -r` #fixed by kernel-power
also what does "ls -l /lib/modules/" show?
is MyDocs mounted?
did you completely shutdown without USB cable and then boot?

how did you get the 27 kernel again?
i had issues with the 28 kernel, and just reflashed my entire device to vanilla again to start over because my contacts kept disappearing and applications kept crashing.
worked great with cpufreq to change the freqs upon boot or whenever, until the last update happened.
