i believe everything is experimental still,

the v31 runs very well on titan's device, so it will need other testers to confirm that the kernel is 100% okay.

Using Andy 1210's code:

apt-get install kernel-power=2.6.28-maemo27 kernel-power-flasher=2.6.28-maemo27 kernel-power-modules=2.6.28-maemo27

I was able to downgrade to the stable -27 in under three minutes. It took that long because the "3" in T-mobile's 3G is a small three. (~45/kBps) Actual flashing time was under three seconds.

All of the -28 issues are gone now i'm using -27 again.

Now I know what they mean when folks say that the stuff not in the main repository can act funny. I'm quite impressed with how few issues I've encountered when I look at all the extras and devel stuff I run
.

i would just like to ask titan if the settings/configurations in v27 (which is in v31 except from the USB modules) is final, or maybe there are a lot more updates than just fixing the bugs.

thanks titan! you're the man!!!

EDIT: in v27, are there any of you have an issue of the PC/laptop does not recognize the n900's mass storage and only reads the micro SD??? Thanks.....my first time connecting my n900 to a Win XP desktop with v27 installed, so that's why i just notice

the kernel will never be final
in v28 there were some additional features (mostly advanced network stuff, none of them relevant for most users) and three changes that could potentially have caused the
crashes:
OABI to execute old binaries, MMC bouncing (should have improved MMC latency) and patching of preinit (the last thing I had not undone in v31).
v32 no longer patches preinit - I hope that's the problem, otherwise I'm clueless.

i am not installing titan's updates through HAM.

i install them through this

download these through xterm and put them in a folder (mmc or mass storage)
-kernel-power_2.6.28-maemo32_armel.deb (1st)
-kernel-power-modules_2.6.28-maemo32_armel.deb (2nd)
-kernel-power-flasher_2.6.28-maemo32_armel.deb (3rd)

then

-run xterm
-sudo gainroot
-dpkg -i location/of/file (intsall them the consecutively as shown above)

if this is too hard for you:

-run xterm
-sudo gainroot
-apt-get update

a notification on you status bar should appear, or click "update" on your HAM+

UPDATE: I can now confirm that v32 is operational, i can do everything in terms of overclocking as normal as in v27. no restarts, app crashes and sound is enabled.....(currently using media player)

clock, canola etc apps that needs sounds are stable, boot video is back, vibrations enabled.

thanks titan.

it takes some time to get imported into the repository.
soon it should in Application Manager - update.
