i think i have mine edited for something like 3 hours.

but it only updates if it triggers while wifi is active, or you happen to have "browse installable" or "check for updates" open.

or at least, thats what experience is telling me...

Searched, can't find. Ever since the diablo update, I've lost my pageupdown, i.e. the ability to jump down a whole screen's worth with one press of the dpad. This isn't as bad as it could be, as pressing the dpad no longer yields jumps from link to link, but rather serves to progress the page upward or downward by small increments. This is an improvement over the original link-jumping, but I miss my pageupdown.

When I tried to uninstall via app manager to reinstall, I got Unable to Uninstall. So I went to exterm. Here's what I got:

Code:
Nokia-N800-23-14:/media/mmc1# apt-get remove microb-pageupdown

Reading package lists... Done

Building dependency tree

Reading state information... Done

E: The package microb-pageupdown needs to be reinstalled, but I can't find an archive for it.

Unpacking replacement microb-pageupdown ...

This is probably because you have manually changed this package,

or perhaps you reinstalled the original package, or you installed

another package that also manipulated these lines.

dpkg: warning - old post-removal script returned er ror exit status 1

dpkg - trying script from the new package instead . ..

Thanks, but to be clear: I have pageupdown and have it installed. But it just stopped working after the ssu update. When I try to uninstall it via xterm, I can't (see log above). When I try to reinstall it, I can't (see log again).

Sorry to make you guys go through the log, but it's short and would be much appreciated!

For reference, I've uploaded the original diablo post ssu platformHTMLBindings.xml here:

http://pastebin.com/m3c4ea0cb

I'd recommend using that one to replace whatever weird mix you have at the moment.

As root try this:
dpkg --remove --force-all microb-pageupdown

I have a feeling you will still get errors so do this:
rm /var/lib/dpkg/info/microb-pageupdown.postinst
rm /var/lib/dpkg/info/microb-pageupdown.preinst
rm /var/lib/dpkg/info/microb-pageupdown.prerm
dpkg --remove --force-all microb-pageupdown

After that the package should remove. I'd recommend restoring platformHTMLBindings.xml and maybe deleting /home/user/.mozilla/microb/prefs.js and then trying to reinstall again.

EDIT: Just realised, reinstalling won't work, the up/down behaviour in post ssu microb has changed, maybe timeless as the author will update? I don't have the time :/

Thanks for the info, q12. Strange the no one else complained of losing pageupdown...Was I the only one addicted to it??

At least the post ssu microb has abandoned link-by-link scrolling.

Yeah, just hold the up/down arrow and it will scroll the page. Gets the job done.

Wait. If I had done a full reflash after this ssu update was released, I would be able to have my pageupdown? I thought qwerty12 just said that this won't work, because "the up/down behaviour in post ssu microb has changed," so the author of pageupdown (or someone else) will have to modify it. ???

Thanks for the advice, Bundyo. Say, since you're so helpful, can you tell me, how do I make phone calls on this phone? Is this better than the iTouch? What is "chinook"? What is a "respository"? How come the email program sucks? Do you know of a good ebook reader? Is there PIM capabilities on this thing? How do I hook it up to my college's LAN? What's a good note taking app? And, finally, CAN YOU PLEEEEZZZZZZ GIMMMMEEEEE A GRAND CENTRAL INVITE???????!!!!!???????
