I agree with Neegs ... unless you are constantly able to access Wifi the 500mb limit cripples what you can do with this phone ... I don't have home Wifi, instead I have a vodafone dongle (3GB) So when I bought this phone I was really careful to look for FUP and there was none ... I don't always go over 500mbs, and I've yet to hit 1gb ... but even without taking into account YouTube, iPlayer and internet radio (which I rarely use) I feel really limited by Vodafone's FUP ...

This is bizarre. They seem to be saying that if I use more than 500MB of data this month (which is not hard), I can quit my 24-month contract, switch to a different network and keep my N900 for free. That would be so fantastic that I am sure they won't let me do that. I doubt they'll enforce this rule for existing customers, except perhaps in extreme cases.

BTW, I got my first 500MB warning SMS last Saturday.

The minute they tell you "You have not moderated your usage, we will now charge you £5 for 500Mb".

BAM

Go and Cancel.

yeah o2 are following vf lead except that they're changing new contracts and NOT tinkering with existing ones like vf, which is the way it should be done.

i agree that unless you use 30gb/month the minute they realise you're aware of your right to cancel, they just wont enforce the new charges and leave you alone until the end of your contract.

once again i'd discourage everybody from changing their plans. you were sold an unlimited plan, no reason to give in to a downgrade to 1gb hard cap and give up your right to cancel your contract, getting nothing in return....

this is my last contract with vf, thats for sure

even on the 1gb upgrade the fup still applies ive had them confirm it 3 times now once on the eforum live chat and twice by 191, as long as i have only signed one contract i still intend to cancel if im ever charged for data.
