Is there a backup facility built into the device? if so is there an option to store and sync this into some magical online cloud?

Is it me or is it totally f… up that voice control will not come to N9. :-(

Is is possible that some dev can make an app? Something like Siri would be great :-)

Have no idea whether it is possible or not, but would be great.

Got my N9 3 days ago, love it. Just hope more Symbian things will come, like speed cams warnings in Maps.

Thanks.
What's the last update for your Parrot?
I'm on 1.6.

Ok I said it too early. Syncronization does not work correctly. N9 syncs only contacts that was added to N9. Contacts coming from MfE are not synced with bluetooth...

Yup, and here's the project page...

It may always be a few steps behind Siri.
But nice to know there's a F/OSS option out there.

Juuso the fMobi developer has confirmed that he still plans to release a client for Harmattan soon.

And N9-apps will launch in a few more days.
Mikael confirmed via email to me earlier.

I got the viewer back. From the dev repositories I needed to install packages office-tools and calligra-kchart. Following link has instructions to use apt-get for the dev repos instead of downloading and installing .deb files manually.

What comes to x forwarding from n9, the file /etc/ssh/sshd_config has a row:

Code:
X11Forwarding yes
Which of course would indicate the possibility of x forwarding. I do not know if some of my settings are not right, but trying the standard x forwarding commands resulted the x window opening in the host (n9) and not in the client (my desktop from which I was sshing into the phone). Which of course is slightly peculiar.

Anyway, if someone is playing with developer mode, I recommend reading following:

http://www.basshero.org/blog/113/nok...e-ssh-security

For some reason I was not able to ssh into the device over 3g, only via usb cable.

Hi,

Happy owner of the N9 for a week, except for one problem which appeared yesterday. I enabled developer mode and installed all the extras it offered me; ever since then my idle battery usage has skyrocketed.

Screen brightness on lowest, timeout of 30s, closing all apps before I stop using the phone etc - I used to get approximately 20mA avg. idle consumption. Now it's between 55 and 70mA; and today the battery has almost completely drained with 1h 20min active use taking 39% and 12h of idle taking the remaining 61%. When looking in the battery monitor application, 7% of the idle battery drain comes from processor usage, the remaining 93% from "other hardware and services".

Does anyone have any idea what could cause it? I tried turning developer mode off, but it's to no avail.

Slightly related, when is the first large update for the N9 scheduled for release?
