I figured that was it, but just now learned it takes several clicks to get the virtual keyboard up (the first time anyway). For me anyway.

Whoa-- message sent and received! sweet! Now if I could just get calls working... usually nothing happens but just now when I called out to my cell from my N810, the N810 started ringing!

UPDATE: okay, I see what's happening with calls...

1) I dial out from N810 to cell using Dial central
2) a few seconds later my PC rings-- I had Google Talk logged in there also.
3) after a couple of rings, I see that Google Talk is sending a call to my N810
4) I answer, and a few seconds later, my cell phone rings, showing the Google Talk number on caller ID
5) I answer the cell, and then it and the N810 are connected

Odd behavior, but at least calls connected. My only problem now is being able to hear the recipient on my N810... a problem I'm troubleshooting elsewhere.

Hopefully what I have in SVN improves on this. I've been playing with different UI tweaks to improve behavior on Fremantle which some have trickled into Diablo support.

Just because its confusing me, to reiterate the issue you see is on start up it asks your credentials. You hit ok. The dialog appears again. You try again and hit ok. The dialog stays up and doesn't allow you to do anything, its hung?

I'm really confused as to why its hanging... grrr

the second time I enter my credentials the dialog box disappears when I hit "OK" then the program kind of hangs...while it fails to log in I can still manipulate the program.i.e. if I press and hold "recent" I get an error line along the bottom stating "update() got an unexpected keyword argument 'force' " figure this is due to not being logged in but shows that some part of the program is responsive...

Oh, part of that is expected, part of that is not. After two attempts, I give up and stop showing the login dialog. The force errors is not expected.

Should I make it on one attempt or should I make it continue for forever?

The log-in box only appears twice. After the second attempt it remains hidden (can bring it back with the new login menu item)

and just to clarify the login format should be username@gmail.com correct?

I actually think you leave off @gmail.com

I have the same login issue.

I also uninstalled and deleted my .dialcentral directory. Dialcentral failed to launch until I created the .dialcentral directory myself. It's not creating it at startup.

Using version 1.0.5-4
