Couldn't find anyone in this topic that has the same problem as me..

I can't even start up Alarmed. I downloaded the program from the repos and installed it without any errors. However if i try to start up the application, i get a black screen with the loading sign at the top (same as refreshing mail). And after a few seconds it closes the application. I tried rebooting, that didn't work.

anybody have an idea?
Thanks

start from xterrm, maybe you will see some error messages:
In xterm:
run-standalone.sh python /opt/alarmed/alarmed.py

Hi!
I have the same problem. If I start Alarmed via 'python /opt/alarmed/alarmed.py' I run into a "Segmentation fault".

Ideas anyone?

Python is version 2.5.4
Kernel is 2.6.28-omap1

You can fix this by installing libpyside -

apt-get install libpyside1.0

How about libshiboken1.0 ? Do you've the latest version of that too ? I had the same issue with alarmed and I think I fixed it by updating libpyside and libshiboken to the latest version (beta3).

unfortunatly that didn't work either... it did update 1 package, but nothing else.

Also had a look if it had a conflict with Timedsilencer (as it's the same type of program, but that didn't help either..)
