IMO i don't think that the theme has got anything to do with hildon-home
But you may wanna know that i'm using blue-sky theme with humanity icons
and the transitions in patch.tar.gz (the same transitions for theme-customizer- the old one)

And as i said before the problem might be from a widget(s) causing lags to your hildon-home

if you didn't find a solution try to use optimize n900 script
download and install from
http://repository.maemo.org/extras-d....1-0_armel.deb

or directly from application manager
or

sudo gainroot
apt-get install optimizen900

@abhirajsoni

Your problem is not with patch
the patch is used to speed up not to change the mode of desktop
so yuor problem is with the transitions
they are setten up to do that (get back when desktop is pressed)
a lot of people like it (including me)

to solve it

you have to change to another theme
and if you want to change back to your old theme
just uninstall the theme and reinstall it
then change back to it

and although if you want to remove the patch
the instructions are in the first page

OOO my god this version is awesome
i usually restart my n900 every 1 day cause it gets really laggy
but not this time
i have been using the patch since yesterday until the moment i write this post with n900
and no lags for me at all time
besides the awesome performance too!!!

PS i notice that the ram usage is 70% wich is 20% more than usual
is that normal

PS2 performance smooth and super fast so far

how much swapiness have you set? Ram usage is basedon that. starting every day is to high, irrespective of the patch. you have some app which has memory leak. try identifying that. also check out optimizen900 it just cleans up or restart some process and cleans up memory. I use that as often as twice a day and keeps my n900 hale and healthy.

@karam

now I almost rarely overclock the device to 1000min 1000max @ideal anymore....

I've been running 500min 750max @ ideal VDD=1 VDD=2 with great effect... will continue running to see if it will continue running on for many days
