soooo... I've done your widget and the ideal_1000 works as well..

but what I have to to that the widgets of the ideal or ideal_1000 works to swap the state?

@the moment I receive this message..

( rootsh is now deprecated for it poses to much of a security risk.
However you can still obtain a root shell by running the commands 'root' or 'sudo gainroot')

The error that you get is because you have rootsh 1.8 installed instead of rootsh 1.5.

1.5 = extras
1.8 = extras-devel

1.8 does not support rootsh command. So use sudo instead.

Instead of:
rootsh /usr/sbin/kernel-config load ideal

Use this instead:
sudo /usr/sbin/kernel-config load ideal

you don't need either of those
Code:
/usr/sbin/kernel-config load ideal
or
Code:
sudo kernel-config load ideal
is sufficient

thx guys now it works...

Is it possible as well to make a widget for the CPU Temp ??

and when I wanna set the underclock temp to 250 is it correct that I have to use this in xterminal ? kernel-config limits 250 500 1000 ??

I loaded enhanced linux kernal from extra devs installed it, then ran:

kernal-config load ideal.

Phone crashed and reboot, tried it a few times, a couple of times it last a good 10 minutes before crashing other times it crashed straight away.

It then crashed my phone fully (wouldn't go past nokia screen), so I then flashed an old lehto kernal (125mhz - 900mhz) and it is now working again.

ive read that the kernel-config way is a better way though, can someone explain why it is, and would anyone have any reason why it crashed my phone?

I still have the 'enhanced linux' program isntalled as well, there is a deinstallation link in the more menu but when I run, it tells me it can't 'uninstall the nokia kernel' or something along the linse of that then fails. So I can't get rid either, any ideas??

It seems your phone cannot handle the lower voltages that the ideal profile uses.
info - http://wiki.maemo.org/Overclocking#Summary

Instead of ideal, just try the LV profile.

kernel-config load lv

Then run following to set the limits to 250-850:

kernel-config limits 250 850

if that works, you can try higher if you want:

kernel-config limits 500 1000

There is no way to display CPU temp on N900. The temperature people are seeing is the battery temp sensor. So it's very inaccurate to go off that reading imo.

Also, to make it 250-1000:

kernel-config limits 250 1000
