Instead of ideal, just try the LV profile.

kernel-config load lv

Then run following to set the limits to 250-850:

kernel-config limits 250 850

if that works, you can try higher if you want:

kernel-config limits 500 1000
Would you suggest this better than the lehto 125-900 kernel? Whats benefits are there?

Would I then need queen beacon to have switches to turn it on off etc???

Sorry about the questions, but to be fair there are like 3000+ posts in here, I only kept up until it got to around 80

so no-one has the same problem as me then? kernel keeps going back to default 250 - 600 when a phone call is initiated or the browser is started.
Looked into everything i can think of and ran out of ideas. Like i said before i have not modified anything. was working pre ver 27 on phone.
Problem
Running an un modded v34 etc/pmconfig file untouched
Tried a full uninstall and reinstall
All config settings revert back including Ideal/LV and manually setting max/min cpu freq.
Any ideas greatly appriciated.
cheers

Edit I seem to remember this was a problem with an earlier kernel and was sorted by changing default freq from 600 to 599 or something along those lines.Anyone remember how this was solved?

the setting is unloaded after unexpected shut-down.
and the calendar crashes after kernel-load from x-terminal.

i use v34 and copy xlv to /etc/default/kernel-power

programs i installed:
kernel-power-flasher
kernel-power-settings
openssh
rootsh
brianparty
conky
cpumem-applet
flashlight
mscim
msn protocol plug-in
mstardict
omweather
extra decoders support

do your freqs set back to 250/600MHz after a call?
Hey Gabby i just noticed this today after I added some Qb snippets. When I load the ideal profile the snippets show max 850 min 500, but after a phone call the min goes to 125. When I look at conky, the freq never drops below 500. Any explanation? Something I msised?

From Jakiman's Overclocking guide:

If your Settings - About Product is showing <unknown> after kernel mod: (It's not important but for those who care)
1. Launch xterminal
2. sudo gainroot (assuming you have rootsh installed)
3. apt-get install --reinstall mp-fremantle-generic-pr (this name can be different. instead of generic, it may be 002 or 003 etc)
4. reboot
note: This does not touch the overclocked kernel. So can be done with either modded or non-modded kernel. Only updates the version information.
==================
I personally use for step 3 the line

apt-get install --reinstall mp-fremantle-*

because it is more universal than the generic-pr reference.

This whole thread is like a monument, a triumphant one. It starts out with that poll and someone hesitantly asking whether overclocking might be tried, and ends with large numbers of users proving it can be, thanks to hard work by a few people willing to take risks and follow their ideas.

the settings revert back to default but the freqs dont after a reboot or a call IMHO.

happens to me too.
