@samuch

Where does Android Fail? I am probably going to get an Android phone later and want to know what the bad parts are. My friends with Droid's love theirs, and they have a bunch of neat and very useful features!

The numbers are correct, but you don't just apply kindergarten level math operations to it to get the actual performance approximation.

no

it doesn't work that way you can't simply add cpu and gpu ratings that way to sum up icp

I must admit another reason I posted was to inflame the fanboys

I did research before buying the N900, I am reasonably happy with the N900 as a phone but I think the change in direction to MeeGo will slow the development down quite a lot for at least 6 months and therefore slow/put off the developers of apps.
I am not a coder (and never will be). The apps are what make a phone and the N900 was going to be a device that would be both, a phone and a computer. I am happy with the computer part, although it turned out I have left my hacking days behind me.
By the way, if Nokia aren’t reading these posts, I would be very surprised.

If you want a phone not a computer, I think you're going to be equally disappointed with an Android phone as well.

I think from what you want, a Blackberry/E72 would be more suitable.

Mainly because they're more focused on the Voice side than Maemo or Android.

If we had Java on the N900, someone could port the android API and we would be able to run Android apps on the N900. Nobody would actually use the Android apps, but we could all brag about how cool our phone is where this kind of thing is possible.
