Not to persist a silly axle-wrapping, but I was specifically addressing your complaint that the program description should have included a disclaimer that manual import was required. Obviously that is not necessarily so, hence no need for such a disclaimer.

My apologies if that was not obvious in my post.

Mr. Pedantic.

I've had this update installed for the last few days and I'm quite liking it. Even IRC integration. This was what I wanted from the start when Jablet got off the ground. I figured Nokia wouldn't add the others based on what we saw with OGG... but I was wrong and happily so.

I wouldn't say it's quite ready for prime-time, but from what I saw, no users needed to be manually added. Just like with Jablet, they are just pulled down (as they should be).

This whole thing feels a bit bitter-sweet to me, as you might guess.

Anyways, the tablets just keep getting better and better with each update. Thank you, Nokia.

So... if you have already integrated your Google account to access other IMs via Jabber... would your Google account on this new IM update pull down other contacts via Jabber? what do you really have to do to clear Google account with Jabber so you could use other IM with this new IM, remove the other protocols in PSI?

Okay, I've entered root mode and run apt-get dist-upgrade, but I can only get GTalk/Jabber/SIp when I go to chat.

What am I doing wrong?

Oh. You misunderstood. This is to upgrade your distribution and keep your installed packages up-to-date.

To install the new IM protcols you have to open the AppManager, go to the menu, add a new catalogue. Erase the http:// and write in there "matrix". Then press CANCEL! You will be asked if you want to choose the RED PILL or the BLUE PILL. Choose the red one.

Then go to installable apps, choose the rtcomm package and install it.

Voila, there it is.

HTH,
Rafael

I've tried installing as instructed and I've been stuck at "Downloading 497 kB" for the last 15mins

Kilobyte 498 is HUGE. Just give it a few more minutes.

Well this is a nice suprise

I'd love to know if they are working on this limitation:

"No audio/video calls with either telepathy-haze or telepathy-salut "

That would make a lot of MSN and Yahoo messenger fans very happy.
