Glad you wrote that, I was going to write something similar.......I don't want to sound like I don't like the US, but in this instance, it certainly is not the centre of the world.
The US is to my knowledge a long way behind on the mobile world.
Revolutionary Product.......where......Symbian was out before iPhoneOS, and did everything it could do, except touch, but I think you will find that technology was stolen from Nokia anyway
Incredible App Store......I'll kinda give you that, but it certainly isn't the case anymore
Revolutionary Integration of Service and product..........except that they forgot to implement vital mobile features when they released the product, and are still only just starting to include some of them, the integration of bluetooth is amazing.....oh, no it's not
Incredible Customer Service......they had to, otherwise people would have ditched the iPhone long ago, I bet this has cost them a lot of money on issues such as the screens not working in the early ays, batteries overheating. Nokia has great customer service, just go to a local Nokia Repair Centre, and all was sorted, even better now you can completely reflash without them.
I think you will find that Apple stole a few things, the only good thing they have done is the marketing of their device

i've never disputed there share in US, so what you trying to prove here.
my point is your saying nokia cant compete with US money yet they are massive market leader worldwide with European money and without US market, i just wanted to make the point of you dont need US to worlds biggest.
i even read a article few weeks back from a US analyst saying symbian is not a smartphone OS b/c people dont install many apps on it, i'd never read as much rubbish ever just to try bend it for US OS's to say they are biggest, why does US feel the need to try swing it so they look like biggest in everything

Sure, they dont need the US market as there are many other markets out there to make a buck. The problem is do you want to play in the First Division or Third Division league. First Division is US, Indian continent is perhaps a Third Division when it comes to customer service and expectation.
