And having read some of their blogs, type designers have feelings too.
Look at my last post above yours.

This might be a minor technicality, but maemo.org has been passed over to the community, so yes while it supports Nokia devices, it isn't a Nokia site any more.

If anyone was to be taken to court for using a Nokia font on a Nokia device i am sure it would get laughed out of court.

If it had of been let's say an Iphone font then you might have a valid point.

NB off topic but that was an interesting point you made,
"This might be a minor technicality, but maemo.org has been passed over to the community, so yes while it supports Nokia devices, it isn't a Nokia site any more."

Hmm i wonder what people will say about that one.

I can't see that happening at all, but the licensing issue is one that raises its head quite often on OS sites. There must also be a reason for Nokia not releasing the font to the greater public (it appears that you need to be 'in the circle' to download it from Nokia).

Oh this was clarified in the recent council meeting.

Pretty cool 'c' and 'g'.
The rest are almost indistinguishable from Verdana.

I agree with this portion of The Register's article:

I must admit i missed that and am not suprised really if it is the case that Nokia have pulled out of Maemo.org, it was only a matter of time before they did.

Now i think the interest in this community will dwain drastically and i must admit the amount of people using this now are also going down in the last week or so hmmmmm.

I think the end will come when Nokia bring out something to gain back market confidence and when THAT happens it is goodbye for sure to this community and the N900.

I always said things were just too slow on here and now it seems my thoughts were right about the future.... oh well .
