if it had to be just one wish? for nokia to open *all* the source to every bit of the tablet, including any beta and abandoned/half-finished stuff... this would include the wifi driver, the accelerated video driver, the home screen applets...

Nokia's slogan shouldn't be the pedo-palmgrabbing image with the slogan, "Connecting People"... It should be one hand open pleadingly with another hand giving the middle finger and the more apt slogan, "Potential Unrealized." --DR

A capacitive touchscreen that doubles as a trackpad, including a hardware button that allows for switching between typical touchscreen style usage and trackpad style usage on the fly.

My wish: hire usability experts who work together with programmers and hardware designers on the many usability issues.

Why I like the TrackPoint:

*) Its in the middle of the keyboard, easily reached
*) For non-complex input/pointer device its very good
*) Short, small learning curve first few days
*) Easily replacable
*) Mouse buttons are also easily reachable

I very much prefer it over the TrackPad which I've disabled in BIOS (was allowed).

For non-NIT I would love to see some kind of foldable touch screen to be able to be connected to handheld device [such as] the NIT or a phone or...

Performance... the processor, graphic performance, load times are pretty weak.

Get Java rocking on this thing, including Jazelle. Open JDK preferably too, if those two go together.

Haha it's my intent to get my Ph'D in Human Factors/Human Engineering so I'd be open to a future job position.

I don't think it should go into the netbook market, unless they are prepared to do it at full strength. It is an over saturated market, if they can't make the tablet shine among the others, it would fail misserably. As it is already (No Office, No Java) it wouldn't last long.
