Suggest anyone having problems remove the plugin and then do
dpkg install --reinstall libsms0 libconnui-cellular connui-home-cellular
and then reinstall the plugin

Could you upload it to extras-devel?

I have sometimes same problem as in this log. It show me
Code:
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@...
But it is only sometimes. If I turn off cell broadcast, then only operator name is shown (which is OK).

Other than that, I dont know what could be wrong or how to deal with your problem.
I have O2-CZ and seems that sometimes O2 send me something garbaged.

@jonwil, what about to droping cbs message if starting with five characters '@' ?

Good day!
I'm testing this operator-name-cbs-widget but i have this very strange problem.
I live in italy and my operator is H3G.
H3g doesn't have gsm network here in italy, it has only UMTS.
in abscence of umts signal my phone goes in roaming under another operator TIM (Telecom Italia Mobile )... No other costs for voice call but for data yes...

After installed this widget, after few hours my n900 changes the name of operator from 3 ITA ( h3g ) to TIM even if the phone is under UMTS. Very very strange.
I'm sure to be in 3g and not in 2g because i have forced the phone to work in 3g mode.
So just the operator's name changes.
any suggestion ?

Hello jonwil,
I am also using your "widget".
I am using VF Germany ...

... and just rechecked (with another phone) that this network does not send any broadcast messages anymore (it did so on channel 50 and/or 100).

So my only question is on which channel/topic your widget is listening (probably default 50)?. And if it is possible to configure that? A simple hex edit would be fine to me.
Thanks in advance.

tHe current cssu-testing has a version
of cbs-widget with configurable channel.
AFAIK only O2 sends cbs in germany.
Only gauss-gruger coordinates on channel 221.

Thanks for the info nicolai.
Will there be a version for non-CSSU also? (as I assume the patched lib will be part of CSSU; and dependencies?)
