Half of the people here keep saying HW keyboard. It ain't gonna have one, they cut it and it looks like N8 now, which, in my book, is fugly. Sleek and shiny sells, sleek and shiny you get. It even has a central button. Slap an apple on that baby and you can sell it as the next iPhone.

Sleek candybar design. I hope they choke. I am NOT buying a candybar, ever. Every phone I had had sliding abilities, starting with 8110. I want buttons. And, if at all possible, a stylus.

As for all the camera requests, please, get real. There isn't enough light going through that little joke of a lens to ever make it anywhere near what a camera can do. There's a reason those big cameras sell for 4-digit prices. Size is not for show.

If you are out in the sun, any decent phone will take decent pictures. A HD screen has 2 MPx. No light -> no picture and no megapixel sticker is going to bypass the laws of physics. Also, zooming lowers the light. So, yes, not enough light, that means smudged, low quality, high noise, high grain pictures. Don't get me started on flash.

Everybody saw that N8 commercial. Oh, the quality. Any of you took the N8 for a spin indoors? Yeah. More pixels means less light on each pixel. Imagine that, worst. image. ever.

So, what do I want? Well, N900 was pretty great, frankly. Screen could be bigger, maybe an OLED for clarity. OTOH, N900 has translucent, so, in the sun, it's hard to beat. Screen scratches a bit easy, so that's fixable.

I always wanted another camera for stereo. It's lopsided and the stand stinks, so why not add another stand, and, with it, another camera? That would be great. And since it can;t have a bigger battery without being humongous, make the battery have another small one for swapping. You can have hot swap like with PCMCIA cards. Push button, battery pops, insert another. Phone simply sleeps at minimum power while doing this, maybe suspending clock. Oh, and compass(es). AR rocks.

Add a little better build quality and there you have it. Nice display, all the options, stereo imaging (how cool is that?) and ever ready to go. All in a pocket.

And less bugs, please.

It's amazing how we let ourselves be strung along on Step _ of 5 literally for years and many of us are still willing to keep waiting.

It makes Waiting for Godot look like a play for optimists.

I may stop waiting if Samsung brings Meego phone next autumn and it has hardware at least the same as in Galaxy S2. No keyboard, but otherwise reasonably perfect.

Well, any manufacturer can bring out a MeeGo phone and its not just the sole property of Nokia

The one, which has Dalvik VM from the start in it, and current level high end hardware, will be the winner. Lucky Myriad there is no FOSS Dalvik yet.

1. Dialer which can get contacts (say 5 matches) as you type in the keypad. No more go to home screen and start typing with keyboard.
2. Voice Dial maybe?
3. Turn by turn directions
4. Make Browser as fast or better than even Opera. No more stupid browser status bar with a progress bar and pages that take 5-10 seconds to load.
5. Hard reset using the phone's buttons or some other option. No more stupid command line method.
6. Better email program. No more waiting for 30-60 seconds with the email folder refreshing for every time you want to view a new mail that just arrived.
7. Better camera picture's post processing. Having great hardware is only half the job. (Look at iPhone's pix quality with a crappy lens)
8. Pinch and Zoom will be nice to have.
9. Bigger screen?
10. Better bug-testing pre-release
11. There is a field called "Human Computer Interaction". Nokia design should hire some people with those qualifications.
