I have no idea what the dependency entails, but as Google freely patch the Linux kernel as they see fit, I wouldn't be surprised if 4.4 had a minimum kernel version.
That doesn't sound accurate to me. Alien Dalvik maybe, but definitely not Dalvik.
So I'm pretty sure I'll wait
