But up to this day I find n900 internal memory chip to be indestructible. At least I never expirienced problems with none of my units and I got/had plenty
Also memory wearing off can be greatly reduced by swapping on microSD, not mentioning booting from card. Keep your swap and media on memory card and probalby the internal memory will go off all together with CPU No soon anyway

A good last hike through the hills...with a light backpack with a bit of food ...a quick exit plan (gun or pills or something)...some comfy clothes...and time to spend a few good summer days and nights hiking ...enjoying the sunsets and views ...
and of course...
take just one n900 with extra batteries for some music and reading at night..
and leave the rest of my nxx0's for others to continue to enjoy
Never know when one's time may come...
May come quick ...may have time to do something before it is time to go..
But no matter what...
Just in case...
ALWAYS make sure your spare batteries are charged up..

Oh yeah.
I'd like n easy way to fix this.
I have three or four of 'em laying around.
Spring trick is not for long.
Reballing via household oven is not an option.
Bringing to a professional is out of financial scope.
What else?
@Tsippaduida
I am sorry for you
bite this
I had to bite this bullet beginning of this year and switched to SFOS completely. First with JollaC and now un-satisfied with XA2.
So...

Bite the bullet?
But what you said smacks of "having to settle with something one doesn't want ..."
And that is never good.
