http://repository.maemo.org/extras/p...sso1_armel.deb

This link should add the missing lib to install Python 5 to latest N800 firmware.

Maybe dcarter was pointing to:

http://repository.maemo.org/extras/p...sso1_armel.deb

Anyway, doesn't work. It says "invalid archive format".

No, because it's not listed in the package file!

Enable the redpill mode :
in the applications manager
Go to "Tools > Application catalogue", click "New", enter "matrix" into the "Web Address" field, click "Cancel". Choosing the red pill will activate the red pill mode, obviously, and chosing the blue one will deactivate it.

and click on this link to install the missing package :
http://repository.maemo.org/extras/p...sso1_armel.deb

After, You can install python2.5 and other applications.

David.

Yes, tahitibob, the package is there but it is not listed in the Packages file, so it means the repositories are borked. You can install manually that file, but then eventually you'll have problems for other missing ones until the repositories are fixed.

Hey

Thank you, Tahitibob - that's got it. I have now successfully downloaded Python2.5. However, when I now try to install Kagu I get the error:

Unable to Download. Application package not found.

I get this error even though I am downloading the package directly from the Maemo.org website.

Any thoughts?
