Installed OS2007 package on Nokia 770 running OS2006. It seems to work nicely. The only problem observed with this package so far is that if I minimize transmission window, I can't get back to it again (it is not displayed in the task list).

And a few suggestions. Maybe the size of font can be reduced a bit so that the dialogs would fit screen better? Also binding 'fullscreen' key to switch fullscreen/windowed mode would be very nice (without doing any hildonizing).

Next are the things that have been mentioned already, but need to be solved anyway. Default download directory should probably point to /media/mmc1 or explicitly asked to be configured by user on installation or first running (we don't want to wear internal flash, also it does not have too much spare storage space available). And surely, registration at downloads.maemo.org, availability of .install file and repository are required for Transmission to become first class maemo citizen

Thank you very much for taking care packaging this torrent client for maemo.

Well i fixed a few glaring bugs which you mentioned.

- New installs will default to mmc2
- Removed bandwidth settings from preferences dialog to allow more important settings to appear. bandwidth can be still be set per file or prefs.ini.
- 2008 build preferences now defaults to not 'minimize to system tray' and that setting now appears/fits in preferences.

You can grab the 2008 build here : http://wardenclyffetower.com/MaemoFi...n-1.3.2008.deb

Or the 2007 build here : http://wardenclyffetower.com/MaemoFi...n-1.3.2007.deb

Im not sure how much i will do in the pretty dialogs/hildonization area. I'm still hoping to figure out how associations work to download torrent and open with a program like transmission... maemo devs should really simplify associations.

Yes i have set up a project in maemo downloads, i am still figuring out the whole repo structure though.

First of all thanks for that wonderful app. i downloaded a 65mb album and everything went well. But the only problem is that i did not specify a destination.... so it downloaded to /home/user/..... directory. Now my device memory shows that only 10 mb is free. so please tell me how to access those files and transfer them to my mmc. tHanks

Yes, for those who installed earlier versions (< 1.3) and didnt read warning heres fixes/workarounds. (Looking back i had not rolled up the warning to page1- sorry- warning no longer needed with current version linked)

First uninstall 1.2 and install current 1.3 version (or upgrade)
New users will default to memory card, but if you installed older version you will need to udate the download location in the 'Edit/Preferences' screen.

You can move/delete file the file from xterm (such as mv /home/user/album.zip /media/mmc2) -or-
You can move/delete the file from an ssh client -or-
You can download splicer from :
http://wardenclyffetower.com/MaemoFi...er-1.1.all.deb
Then run splicer, browse gtk, click home dir, pick file, type in combo rm, click run

I ran splicer and can see the file but it is not a zip file and it is just a folder with mp3's. i tried combo rm but it says no combo in xterm. can you be more specific. thanks

Sorry, was just upgrading to 2008 beta (from earlier 2008).

Yea your main problem was entering 'combo' into a combo... just enter rm... but rm means remove/delete.

If you dont mind using xterm and want to keep files then just change to home directory by typing cd ~
Then you can type ls to find directory
Then type mv /home/user/dirname /media/mmc2

Splicer method only tries to make it easier by letting you pick files. It only easily works for your purpose for deleting the files not moving them.

If you hate xterm heres more info on splicer methods :

You can either pick every file in directory and delete one at a time (but to do that you only enter the single command rm into the combo box before clicking run) or you could try to move the whole directory by picking a file and then remove the trailing /filename.mp3 from the file name before adding rm to combo and hitting run.

You can also hack it to move the directory by adding a destination dir to the filename text box (like /home/user/myalbum /media/mmc2) and type mv command in combo to move instead of rm for remove)

But if your going through all that trouble you might as well use xterm.

Hmmm....this sounds like a great beginning to a Miro-style application that can use RSS torrent feeds to become a portable TV DVR of sorts...mmm...Miro...
I see another The Unit fan is out there as well...a show that gets most of the hard-core military things right as far as weapons go.

Well i think i encountered the same thing, except for me i didnt notice it until upgrading to 0.94 (current) source code. Not sure if it was the torrent (server?) or just a bad router day (i have had router issues lately regardless of nokia) could be neighbors.

The author did make changes between 0.93 and 0.94 that could be related to this.

New users should just stick with current 1.3 installer, but i backported my modifications to build a 1.1 installer based on authors 0.93 source. So for -advanced- users who have performance/net stability issues might want to compare 1.3 and 1.1 builds to see if either works better.

All builds available at : http://wardenclyffetower.com/MaemoFiles

Regarding Miro-style functionality: i dont intend to add much functionality to this. Once i get consistent performance I will call it done. Since i haven't done much with the source code though, anyone else could do something like that with his source.

The unit was great, rarely watch on tv but Season 1 on DVD was amazing. Maybe i can catch up more now
