While I generally agree on both halves of that statement... it doesn't stop all sorts of *****s from putting 10's of thousands of useless mods on piece of crap cars.. including wings on civics, and kazoos on their mufflers. The fact that something is useless or stupid doesn't keep it from happening.

After all, some people even buy Windows Mobile devices. What's worse than that?
Yea, I'm a mac user, so every one I know either used iChat, or Skype. I thought you could use the camera now? Speaking of civics, I saw one the other day with a HEMI logo on the side. I was thinking somewhere there's one pissed off Dodge owner.

I'm also a mac user, among an office of mac users. No one uses ichat nor skype here.

We use pidgin (or, it's OSX port, called AdiumX).

Glad to see I'm not alone.
Sure I got a solution - just have a built in camera, like there is , only better (since that is what we are talking about) instead of having a CF card slot for slotting in a CF card camera which if the market doesn't have, you will build, and pigs will fly and all that ...

Its sometimes easier to touch the nose right in front rather than reach around your head.

Why in the world would anybody use iChat over Adium? :P

Easier to have no camera at all. Probably better too.

Why not just have a little 2.5mm jack or something and build a camera that plugs in there? It wouldn't need to use much space and rotation would be easy with the circular plug.

Drop it or make it optional.
Besides that it is stupid to include a cam and never release proper software for it...

Why not have 2 cameras, a low res face "web cam" and a front facing 2/3mp
Would see more people buying the N's

I would put up with a crappy camera than none at all because including one opens up so many other possibilities. Comparing 800/810 I'd prefer the 800's design but it would be even better if the camera was mounted on the top of the device, rotatable from front to back. Not sure what percentage of the cost the camera represents but I suspect not much and very little especially wrt the devices appeal.

Regarding complaints of support or lack there-of, could someone educate me and put me in the picture (bum, bum) about what they mean? I have just checked the API and it look well catered for. Sure the apps are missing and maybe the ones that do support the camera need improving but the basics *are* there and *are* accessible.
