My slow about:config is on a new N800 flashed to the new OS and with no restore.
However I did not try it on the newly flashed system but only after installing a whole load of stuff. So in my case it has nothing to do with restoring from a backup.

My about:config on my N810 has been slow since day 1 - no restoring from backups, one update (very first thing when taken out of box). There is absolutely no change in speed after 2nd update (to 50-2 from 44-19) and restore from backup.
It's strange that some of you are getting quick showing of your microb about:config files. I had searched this forum to see how to change font size in microb and that's where I heard of about:config and was warned in those posts that it was very slow and that I should grab a cup of tea/coffee while I'm waiting.

I deleted this file:
/home/user/.mozilla/microb/extensions.rdf
My reason for doing this was to get rid of adblock after uninstalling it. Now about:config does indeed connect in a few seconds.
Coincidence?

I've since installed a whole load of stuff (no backup restore), and about:config is still quick.
Are you sure guys you are reflashing from a FINAL image and not the BETA one?
Also, even a partial restore from backup can cause problems --- which is what happened in my case.

Hi,
to get around the chmod stuff, I just used X Terminal, used "sudo gainroot", started emelfm2 as root, edited the file in question and closed it again.
Editing the prefs.js doesn't need root so I started emelfm2 from the launcher menu.

Look like most of the problem is due to restore
backup from Different OS version........! Can other
confirm.....??
