If you MUST use the n800 SIP (instead of the Gizmo soft client for the N800), here is what you need:

On my N800 I have my GizmoProject account name (not SIP number) as username.

Under Advanced SIP settings on my N800 I have UDP selected. YOU MUST LEAVE OUTGOING PROXY BLANK. Gizmo will not work with an outgoing proxy. Under Authentication (advanced screen #2) username and password are blank. STUN (Advanced screen #3) should say stun01.sipphone.com, port= 3478.

FWD stands for free world dialup. Pulver is "Jeff Pulver" a pioneer in SIP. Free World Dialup and SIPPHONE are two different entities. SIPPHONE and GizmoProject are the same entities. Micheal Robertson is at the helm of Gizmo/Sipphone (and several other hi-tech ventures).

You should point the IPKall number to the (747) number, not FWD.

The above information is accurate. I just looked it all over, and called my Area775 number -- AND -- my IPkall number(s) and my N800 ran everytime. I am certain of these settings.

EDIT: This is important for ALL who want to use "devices" with Gizmo Project (SIPPHONE)......you must NOT have anything in the outgoing proxy field. This is true for the N800, and any ATA hardware for use with Gizmo (SIPPHONE). Gizmo does not work with outgoing proxy, they use STUN.

For what it's worth- Sipphone SIP numbers begin with 747.....FWD SIP numbers begin with 393. There are other SIP networks too, each have their own three digit identifier. Some SIP network "interoperate" but not all of them do. This "peering" between networks is voluntary. FWD and Sipphone are part of the largest peered SIP network.

Another thing.... I believe you can use STUN servers belonging to non-native networks. In other words, it is possible to use FWD's stun server with Sipphone devices, and vise-versa. I don't see why anyone would do this, but it can be done. What cannot be done is pointing your IPKall PSTN number to a 747 type SIP number and have the device you hope to use authenticate to FWD. 747 SIP numbers are part of Sipphone network, use proxy01.sipphone.com with them.

I hope this information helps you.
