Update looks great, but I'm still looking for that blue theme.

Guys : can you try the video with a smaller / lower resolution video?
It seems that some of you have videos (that will indeed play in mplayer default) but whenplaying outside of mplayer (even being mplayer) we cannot use mplayer fullspeed, then you probably not going to get image in too high resolution videos.

Also the rotated kernel can BE a real issue, because the video didn't play when rotated AT all.

We will do some test... but if this is the case then there will be no way but flashing again : /

I've still got media that breaks the scanner. I will have time in an hour or so to zip it up and send you a link. No embedded covers came through, and still having issues with some meta-albums that work fine in iTunes with the compilation bit set, but in canola shows each track as an album.

podcast interface is much improved, but you need to have a queueing system rather than downloading everthing at once as it kills performance of everything.

Hi brontide :

yeah, please send to us them. About the covers, did you run canola-tuning right? and remember : embedded covers only in mp3 files (using canola-tuning).

For the each track as an album : itunes has it "way" and we will not support "specific" players way. But on the settings there's a "multiple album entries" see if that works for you. It fix (combines) the albums into ones.

podcast : is queuing right now. If you push more than 3, it becomes a timer, and it waits for the others to finish. If it didn't work, then we have a bug :/

I will be waiting for your media, you can also test straight with LSM (garage project of the scanner) on all your media there, then with the debug you can tell us what broke the device easily.

if you can post LSM terminal instructions I would be happy to debug some.

as I have found with microb tuning any more than two downloads will probably swamp the device.

Bugs I've noticed already:

At least one of my podcasts has messed up names for the episodes.
See this feed: http://www.democracynow.org/podcast.xml

Today's episode (Thursday) shows up second on the list, that is, behind wednesday.
The name of the episode is listed as a bunch of gibberish characters (most I can't type, the rest include OUM<}wN, etc.

Also, when viewing "today's episodes", canola locks up for about 45 seconds, the wheel even stops spinning. I ssh'd in, and saw that a python process was using about 90% of the CPU. It's fine that it has to go out and fetch updates, but at the least, it shouldn't stop the interface from spinning the wheel.

Morpheuz, has said about that in the beta5 feedback thread. you can do it by dbus or compiling the terminal commands. I will see if we can manage to compile the small terminal app for it.

So it doesn't actually download anything right? Cause I found the other media players do and they end up getting the wrong album cover usually.

Hi fellow Canola lovers! ,

I am looking forward to trying this new version on my N810/OS2008.

I uninstalled the previous version I had. After that I ran Canola cleanup (maybe this was a mistake, but it's done now ).
Then I tried to install this latest version but it shows "not installable" and indicates that python2.5 (=2.5.1-1osso3) is missing. However, I do have python2.5-dev (=2.5.1-1osso3) for ipython and also have
python2.5-runtime (c1.0-2).

Sooo, what do I do now? Do I need to still get python2.5? Where? Will it conflict with my other python2.5 installs?

Thanks!
