I am developing a new recipe viewer from scratch. It will be called pyrecipe. Finger friendly and I hope it run fast, now it does, but I only have ~10 recipes in the database, we will see what happens with ~500-1000 recipes

It won't have all features of gourmet but it will can import recipes from gourmet and other filetypes (mealmaster, etc.). If you know some famous specific format, I will be glad to develop a filter for it.
It will can export to mealmaster, html, gourmet xml, and I am thinking about google docs export.

At the moment, it can create, view and delete recipes. It will need edit recipes, and some import-export filters for its first release.

It also will need a better icons.

Thanks for your work - a recipe manager is just what I'm looking for. I'll try out Gourmet, and look forward to trying pyrecipe.

Ooooo! With a shopping list! Now that's handy I've been needing a shopping list for my N810 so bad (I had a great list app on my Palm). I've actually been using paper to make shopping lists :P

Thanks for the words. I see really there is interest in this and so it always is easier for the developer.

Yes, it will have a shopping list even in the first version. I never used one I always use paper, so any suggestion is more than welcome. What basic functions should it have?
Just now it's very basic, add items, mark items as bought, save the list in a file and little more.

Another thing I am thinking is to have a website where the users can upload and exchange recipes with other users (with different categories, languages, etc.), all that from the application. But it's in planning stage yet.

Btw, I don't know when I will be able to publish the first version because now I begin my finals so I will have less time to dedicate to it. At the latest it will be the second week of July.
But when the first version goes out to the light, it will be stable and very complete.
