The Chinook distribution still works but you have to manually input it in. Go to Application Manager, Tools, Application Catalog. If you have Yann Benigot's Repository already installed, just edit the catalog details so they look like the following:

Web Address: http://yannbng.free.fr/Maemo/repo

Distribution: Chinook

Components: main

Refresh and you should be good to go.
Tried a couple of times to refresh but without succes
ill try again later

I would recommend to delete that repo from your Application Manager and re-enter it again. I had something similar happen to me in Diablo. I had what appeared to be a valid repository, but it always failed to refresh. I even verified that the repo was up and available via web. I ended up deleting it and adding it fresh. Problem solved.

Make sure it's lowercase "chinook" as the distribution or the URL won't resolve... at least, that's what I think made it work for me.

You may try if adding the following to CFLAGS in debian/rules the following:

-march=armv6j -mtune=arm1136jf-s -mfpu=vfp -mfloat-abi=softfp

will make the emulator faster. I believe it should, because it uses a lot of floating-point math, and using the co-processor certainly would help.

See this page for a evaluation of the performance gain you can get on intensive FPU operations:

[update] Ooops, I did not realized TIxx is not really a calculator, but a real computer :-) So I'm not sure if the above will help much, although perhaps it could improve the coprocessor emulation speed anyways (if m68k has one).

Hello, I am having some trouble getting this application to work on my N810. I have installed using the link on this post and it installs correctly, but when I try to run it using the option "I want to use PedRom (GPL'ed replacement OS) shipped with TiEmu." and then any of the four images say the "pedrom89ti.img" I get the error message "unable to load this skin: </usr/share/tiemu2/skins/ipaq_89t.skn>"

Any suggestions? I would really like to get this app working
Do I need to use my own image? I do own a TI-89 Titanium.

Thank you.

Well I've fixed a few of my problems. I had to gain root and change the file names of the expected skin names.

example:
/usr/share/tiemu2/skins/ti89t.skn -> /usr/share/tiemu2/skins/ipaq_89t.skn

but now I have the problem of the skin being much to big for the screen (I can only see the top display of the calculator screen) So that makes me wonder am I using the wrong skin? Where can I find the real skins?

Currently I cannot zoom out or scroll down so this app is still useless

Below is a screenshot of my current issue.

Thanks!

With the Ti-89 skin, you have to rotate screen to get something usable, but you can try with the V200 and the Ti-92+ skins.

Thanks, but maybe I'm missing something obvious, how do I rotate the screen so that the standard TI-89T skin fits in the window? Could you be a little more specific and lay out the steps for me? I feel a little stupid I'm just not seeing it today.

Thanks!

You can look at this message to enable rotation with Diablo (thanks qwerty12 :-)) and this one on chinook (thanks Pretoriano :-)).

fesato : you can try to download this archive, extract it and then install manually all packages.
