Extras-devel anybody? Anybody?

C'mon, if we can't use -devel for alpha/beta testing why bother having it at all?

tso: That's not the marker jumping. For some reason when you stop resizing an applet it seems to jump a little bit in the direction you are going. I have endless fun trying to line up GPE-Summary, Countdown Home, Yellowsnotes, and Personal Launcher because of this. It seems to be an issue with the desktop code.

General: If I could get it in extras-devel, I would. There is an issue with libtool and relative links that I am having trouble solving.

ok, lets see if i can give a better description then.

as i try to resize, nothing happens, no black background, and nothing moves.

but when i lift the stylus from the screen i see the corner marker jump some pixels to the right.

but as you say, its probably desktop code related.

tso: I find if I try resizing a few times it does what you describe. If you open a window in front of them and minimize it, resizing works well again. Hope this helps.

fiferboy, thanks! Things seem to be progressing great with each update. Like p*menu it's really flexible and a great addition to the home screen! Some icons are rendered distorted... is that "just the way it is"?

A side note, I forgot to save a copy of my p*menu .rc before updating to diablo and had a terrible time getting browser to open to a specific page. Just solved minute ago... turns out I was adding bwser via app list annd then manually adding --url=* ...... this didn't work, had to do the whole thing manually. I mention it here since same would probably occur with p*launch.... if anyone's having same trouble I was.

chrisak: The last version of Personal Menu backs up and restores your data with the rest of the settings. I thought I had put this in a much earlier version, but there was a problem with it. The next version of Personal Launcher will have this too.

Good point about the browser URL. When you add it from "Select from installed applications" it uses the DBUS line to execute instead of the executable. Adding url= doesn't do anything. Adding manually is definitely the way to go.

Version 0.4 is out. This adds animation (which can be enabled or disabled) when launching an application. The icons now have configurable transparency to blend into the dekstop. Backup/restore functionality has been added.

Also, the packages are now available in chinook and diablo extras-devel repository.

Enjoy!

tso: You are right, the version in garage continually resets the desktop for me too. Hopefully the extras-devel one doesn't when it makes it through the hurdles to get into the repo (it is built separately).

Regardless, I will fix this tomorrow if it is still an issue. Thanks for pointing it out.
