Even if I wanted to buy one, they apparently don't consider Bulgaria as "Rest of Europe"...

It's interesting that for such an "open" project, they keep their code very close to the chest. . . .

Good point.. despite all the talk about developer units and openness, I haven't seen a link to any source code anywhere.

Addendum: Note, though, that I didn't exactly go trolling their forums either, though.. so it's just not OUT THERE.. maybe it was MENTIONED. But that still seems a little more hidden that I'd expect.

Well, considering Visa/MC doesn't grant exceptions to, for example, Best Buy, Amazon.com, Dell, Microsoft... well, whatever, I guess "Craig" has connections. Although I'm sure your theory could be easily tested... 3000 x $329... hmm, almost a million $US.

Well, the kernel source would be here I believe: http://github.com/djwillis/
Unlike Nokia who seem to think that closed source components give them some "business advantage" or differentiation I don't see a reason why the Pandora people won't release all the source they legally can. The source for the PowerVR drivers will of course never see the light of day anywhere.

Any hope of using the binary PowerVR drivers for the Pandora on the N8x0?

Um?

Let's rephrase: Any hope of using the binary PowerVR drivers for OMAP3, which uses a completely different chipset, for OMAP2?

We can't even use OMAP2430 binary drivers on the OMAP2420.

Besides the illegalness, it's a different kernel version and more important a different powervr chip. The N8x0 tablets have an OMAP2420 with a PowerVR MBX, while the Pandora has an OMAP3530 with a PowerVR SGX. For the Pandora the kernel drivers are open source and provide access to the chip for closed source userspace GLES libraries.

This is of course, AFAIK. YMMV. no warranty and all that other stuff. :P

i would have thought that a similar solution could have been used on the tablets...
