Just to be clear, I love OMWeather. One of my favorite apps for the tablet.
This feature will be made in version 0.22 of OMweather

Why are you and OMWeather developer not working together?

What are the + and - of each of these applications? Perhaps food for a wiki entry.

No offense, just noticing...

Nice applet indeed. I dropped OMWeather because of it's "hey - I think I can do anything" approach. Fullscreen details were the final nail.

Just wondering... I've used both of the apps, but does anybody else notice a big difference on the actual DATA - at least for me in Helsinki, Finland, the Foreca gives a lot more usable/accurate forecast. And that's still the main thing with weather applet - doesn't matter which UI I like, it's the information that matters!

Not saying they shouldn't work together, but I like a little diversity and would like it if they remained different applications to see where the divergence might produce a different kind of application to do the same thing--maybe better for some, maybe not so good for others, but then at least almost everyone could be happy with either.

I like the fullscreen details, actually, but I can understand the preference for not having that. What would you prefer it did if you pressed and held onto a date? Maybe that could be added and a preference could be selected of whichever behavior you prefer to see?

Simple - just like in Foreca applet.
There is no excuse to eat more space than the applet itself uses.
I know - configurability of OMWeather makes it probably impossible but I like Foreca applet's way.

What do you mean 'simple?' Explain for those of us that haven't used Foreca or that maybe don't quite understand the ambiguous use of 'simple' as a description of what you want it to do.

Ok - applet itself occupies some space on the screen.
So it's nice to stay within this and only this space with controls and configuration. No additional windows - applet changes it's face. It's all within it's space and as I said - when size is highly configurable - this kind of behaviour looks rather impossible to apply. This means "simple" for this kind of things at least for me.

The worst case scenario is (imo) applet setting via control panel.
Maybe because applet for me means something like "almost application" - something tiny.

Sounds reasonable if it's done right.. what about resizing, though? That might be a problem, if you have this applet that can resize and it's much too small for configuring? Maybe that's why the "Applet Settings" from the Home screen is a much more appropriate choice, then.

Applet settings - definitely - It's the best way and could be the only one especially if desktop could be switched back to os2007 behaviour with it's dedicated edit mode (I hate when my applets overlap because of unintentional finger dragging).
As for resizing - I've had it on my mind when I said about configurable custom views etc.
IMHO if something is done right - It'll fit a large number of users. As for configuration - You can always find someone who will be dissapointed because of lack of this or that but going that way will certainly increase number of people tired with so many options.
