Today when I was cleaning my screen I noticed tiny tiny scratches in the screen, you have to look really hard and they're almost invisible, but they are there, and they are not going away. (I think they have been caused either by my nails or by the stylus)

There for, since I have been careful with it (and leaving it mostly at home too), I'm thinking of investing in a screen protector to prevent any further damage.

If you don't care about tiny almost invisible scratches in your device then yea, don't bother, but otherwise its not a crazy idea to buy a screen protector.
I absolutely agree with you. I had a lot of devices in my life and always had screen protectors on them. Two weeks ago I bought Nokia 5800XM. I use case for it in every moment. And few days ago I saw a few little scratches made (I think) by plektron or my nail.
So tomorrow I will order screen protector from Vikuiti for my incoming N900. Better to spend 11 euro than look on scratched screen of my beauty.

I think Mobile Privacy will be more glossy (I don't like mat). I send them a message with this question.
I asked Brando but they don't know when their Ultra Clear for N900 will be available.

For almost the same price you can have the screen casing replaced for your Nokia 5800...

I think that the better way is to buy a protector for a few months than replace screen for a few days.

Finally I ordered Vikuiti DQC-160. It's crystal clear and perfectly made. If you order 2 pcs one additional piece is free and shipping is in price.

Well, if the screen surface on the N900 is anything like the N810's there shouldn't be a problem.

I've had screen protectors on the 770 and N800 since day one, and I believe they were needed on those. I actually also bought one for the N810 but was too lazy to install it before I started using it, and never got around to do it afterwards.

After almost two years of heavy stylus use, the screen surface is still, literally, good as new. I just always carry it in its pouch between uses, is all.

I sure hope the N900 is at least as good.
