My experience suggests that most men prefer girls to wear less make-up, not more.

How about an app to remotely taser your husband if he's spending too much time in the basement reading all the Maemo Talk posts.

How about just mirror (not familiar what this magic means). Girls use mirrors to put lipstick/eyeliners etc (in bus, in bar, in work). So this app would remove the need to have separate mirror in girls handbag. Thus make handbag smaller and lighter. And maybe N900 can offer mirror like feeling with that resolution (not sure about the front camera thought)?
Of course we are getting make-up industrys hatred because now they cannot sell those 20e/20bucks style-mirrors anymore.
And version 2.0 would order new lipstick automatically after 30 use or after 15 min use or when it is ending (or course the app could figure out what make-up thing is used and how much). Or suggest newest lipstick 'model' (advertising!) when current one(s) are ending (sorry beforehand - I'm new in this site so don't really know how you are reacting to commercial ideas)
At the end app knows the way this particular girl uses hers make-up things and we could profile her and use that information somehow to help this girl make different/better make-ups. And thus lighten up our guys world also. Win-win

A few ideas that, if implemented, would assure my wife takes permanent possession of my N900:
- an easy-to-use Delicious Library-type application that:
- uses lardman's work on barcode scanning via the camera to help catalogue her collections of console video games, movies, CDs, and manga
- notes which games she's loaning to her sister & provides the full list on demand
- provides a quick link from each game to the appropriate pages on GameFAQs
- searches Amazon automatically as she enters wanted items to suggest matches
- automatically pushes wanted items to her Amazon wishlist
- periodically checks Amazon for the most up-to-date release dates for wanted manga and updates countdown home applet accordingly
- additionally catalogs collectible cards and helps build and submit saved searches on eBay for the missing items
- a weather applet with not just the n day forcast, but also pollen & mold spore counts, allergy/ozone warnings, animated radar image, etc. (Weatherscan Local in an applet essentially, if you're familiar with that television service)
- an easy-to-use application that collects all the scans from a selected series on OneManga and assembles them into an ebook for off-line viewing
- an applet that watches TechBargains for printable Borders coupons
- a Belltower-type applicaton, but for Art Nouveau architecture
- a web comic (specifically: Penny Arcade, MegaTokyo) notifier applet
- one or more Japanese-style RPGs, either original creations or games new to the U.S.
- bonus points for convincing, say, Square or Atlus to release a game on Maemo
- super bonus points for reforming Working Designs and getting a new, expanded revision of a Lunar game on Maemo
- infinity bonus points for convincing Gravity to create and maintain a Maemo client for RagnarokOnline
Actually, forget that last one. Mobile data is too expensive, and my kids need a mother.
Oh, and this is important: make none of it pink.
