Maemo Mapper v1.2.2 has been released with fixes to bugs #109, #110, and #111. There is no new functionality. You can download and install now from the Maemo Mapper Garage Files page, or just upgrade directly via the Maemo Garage Extras repository (v1.2.2 is there already).

There is no rushing need to download this version, unless you absolutely need to be able to create POI's with apostrophes in their labels or descriptions.

No problem with my ld-3w. Latest == 1.2.2, yes? Please, install maemo-bt-plugin, connect to gps; in terminal type:
cat /dev/rfcomm0 > /media/mmc1/nmea.txt
Wait for fix. In terminal send Ctrl-C (disconnect gps) and send me nmea.txt file. (cezary (at) eko.one.pl)

Any thoughts on some speed warnings?

if speed > 80 ALERT (flite text)
if speed < 45 ALERT (flite text)
Have a menu where you can create multiple rules, with customizable <>= / SPEED / flite text

Also, its really hard to look down and see your speed intermixed with everything else. it would be nice to be able to have check box configuration to add or remove speed/ lat / lon / sat info, you get the idea.

Any thoughts on rotating maps so its always going up on the screen, I must admit I am somewhat dislexic when it comes to heading south, I alway turn the wrong way, I guess I am a little slow.

Also now that you are including all the information about speed / heading / lat / lon is there any chance we will get a NMEA output feature in the setup dialog that will log all NMEA data while using MM.

Anyway just ideas???

Thanks

Can you currently use POI labels to specify the start and destination for downloading routes? I don't suppose you can but I can't check at the moment due to lack of wireless. Some issues with POI labels not being unique could pose some UI problems but it seems like it could be a useful enhancement.

I am trying to find a simple means of planning a route from arbitrary point A to arbitrary point B. The point A and B are arbitrary since they may be rural addresses and destinations in national parks which are not all that clearly defined by address yet have road access on them visible on Google Maps. I can't see a means of doing this with mapper without a lot of transcription of coordinates.

Anyone have a simple method that I am missing?

Tested out the fixes on issues that I reported ... everything is working great! Quickest turn-around from bug-report to release that I have ever witnessed! :]

Thanks.
