try the following steps under Win 7 Kevven;

1) Open Windows Media Player

2) Click the 'view full screen button' (normally bottom right) OR click 'Go to library' to make Windows Media Player turn into its library view.

3) Click the 'Stream' option.

4) Choose 'Automatically allow devices to play my media'

5) Done.

If you want you can also set up more streaming options (name of your DLNA network etc.) and even allow you to share your library over the net from your computer to another PC. Which seems to require a Windows Live Login.

Fun stuff. hope it works.

Del

I tried the exact same thing but no luck, still tells me that no files/no folders

I am using Windows 7 and I too see my Windows Media Player in media player what am I doing wrong?

I am having the exact same problem. On the N900 I can see the shared files on my computer. But when I play it, the music of the movie comes out but not the video!

The set up works for my PS3, no idea why it doesnt work on the N900. It shouldnt be a codec problem because I copied the file over onto the device and it worked flawlessly...

Any ideas anyone?

Do we really need to wait for another firmware for this fix? This is a very important feature to have broken for who knows how long. Is there a way to apply a patch so we can get this working right away? I do not want to wait months for another firmware again to get functionality back that was present before!

Works flawlessly for my music; working great for videos, but wants to buffer constantly. Also, it seems to only be streaming mp4 videos and not my xvid avi's. I will try to encode a video file to wmv and see if it's better.

I also have the problem with the device not accessing the pictures over the network.

[edit] I converted 2 flv clips to wmv and they streamed perfectly to the n900 with no buffering pauses. [/edit]
