There's no way to do that. With mapper alone you may get numbers to work (mapping fn+q to the key 1 scancode and then removing the mapping from the fn key), but that's about it. (on the N810 also it was impossible to map all keys without some parches iirc)

This is the reason I spent a day extending dosbox's keyb to support more features and created the keyb layouts.

I cannot get keymapper to open, since it is ctrl+F1, I tried fn+shift+1+ctrl with no luck. Is there a command line option to launch it? What directory does the actually program install into also? I have found the cfg in /home/users/.dosbox/ but I have no idea where the actual program is located, to launch it with -keymapper or w/e

Hello, I have some problems starting games in DOSBox on my N900:

1)configuration in dosbox doesn't work for me, it won't launch the .conf file
"/home/user/.dosbox/dosbox-0.73.conf" says permission denied, any other line mentioned here doesn't work

2)keymapper: wierd, I can't map all the keys, some, like the ":" aren't even present in the picture of the keyboard, the "-" key doesn't work in dosbox(doesn't launch "-startmapper", in mapper it says event:minus, on some keys in the picture are more than one event, but I don't know how to switch between them

3)Both these mean I am stuck after mounting directory, but I can't switch there, or preset it.

I am total Linux newbie and the same aplies for DOS. It would be nice, if someone created a beginners guide with all the steps we have to do untill we can finally launch a game in dosbox, or if anyone is willing to do it-a video.

Thank you for everything

DOSBox numbers and symbols work with a BT Keyboard, even though the N900 does not see the numbers from the BT keyboard. When you fix the local keyboard map can you keep the original map as an alternate so as not to break my working BT keyboard.

As I said, you cannot map all FN symbols with the standard mapper. You need rover.sys (see previous page) for that.

Plead for someone to make/port a DOSBox GUI

If you mount in config file, just add (write) in new line "C:" without "".

Hello guys, i've done this little tweak on my N900 regarding the dosbox:

I edited the file (must be as root):

/usr/share/applications/hildon/dosbox.desktop

And in the line that says:

Exec=/usr/bin/dosbox

Change it to

Exec=/usr/bin/dosbox -startmapper

And now whenever you start the dosbox from the desktop it will lanch automatically the Key Mapper. You can map the Esc or whatever you want, then save exit and enjoy.
