You can install through xterm by doing this:

You first need extras-devel enabled and you need to be root. Make sure you have rootsh installed. Remember to disable extras-devel when finnished and it's at yor own risk to install from extras-devel repo

Open xterm and type:

sudo gainroot 'enter'

apt-get install wiicontrol 'enter'

then it installs the wiicontrol, wait for /home/user # to appear, then it's finnished

I have just installed it that way, but as mthmob says it disconnect itself, so not really usefull at the moment and further more you have to mod the wiicontrol.conf file after install to make it work. F2thak points to a thread where he guides how to do it some posts back

So this doesnt work with PR1.2 anymore? i just realized it wasnt installed on my phone anymore. LAME! lol.

I have this working (sort of) after following F2thak's advice but I can not move his wiimote confige file to the right place.

I have downloaded it to MyDocs but it needs to be in "/usr/bin/". I have moved files before in xterm but my memory is drawing a blank at the moment.

Any advice please?

You don't want to download it from a website, especially since it's in extras-devel.

Be very careful when in extras-devel. Don't go on a shopping spree and install whatever looks interesting without doing further research. Disable it once you're done using it.

When I installed the bluez packages for PR1.2 on PR 1.1.1, I was able to get the wiimote working. Since I upgraded I haven't tried it again, but my instructions may still help:

Does anyone know if the Wiimote app can be used for controlling the music player on my phone.

I want to use it as a remote for when I phone is plugged into the TV?

I'll give it a try but wanted to get advice coming incase I run into trouble.

Just remap your keys to fit the application's commands. (e.g. A to spacebar = pause/play, etc.)

Does anyone get freeze using wiimote with vgba?

Mine freezes for some reason after playing 2-3 minutes...?

hi there my first ever post, complete noob i have just gone out and bought a wii mote (dont own a wii) for the sole purpose of using it with my n900. I cant seem to install wii control app, get the message packages missing : maemo select menu location.

How do i get over this???
