Abiword sounds very promising. Any word, though, on when a next version may be available that is optified and corrects concerns that have been mentioned?

Yes, please at least optify. Just put in a file named 'optify' in the debian directory. The file should contain just the word 'auto' and no other change should be needed, the autobuilder takes case of the rest. That's four extra bytes that saves 10+ MB on the rootfs - a good trade I'd say

great app but not so great on rootfs space. Please optify this and it will get my vote!

I have the same problem. I think we need to download a dictionary file from somewhere. Does anyone have a link? I tried the AbiWord site with no luck. Even if I do find the file, I wouldn't know where to put it.

Last version in Extras-Devel is optified.
I installed yesterday and works fine. Only bug is some button icons are missing.
I checked for the bugtracker but it's nowhere to be found.

Hi!

I am missing styles in AbiWord. Is it just me who can't find it or has it been left out for the Maemo version?

I tried making a sample document in Ubuntu, export it to N900 and then copy and paste the heading style but the format (numbering) was not retained in the paste.

I could understand that it is left out because of the limited sceen size but then at least styles should be available from the format menu. It seem like it has been left out there as well.

That makes it hard to use. Could not find way to get rid of this.

.
Has anyone found a solution for this - it's driving me nuts!
I know you can disable autocomplete from settings "text input" for the whole smartphone - but I only want to disable this in Abiword.
