My sister is considering the iPod Touch over the N900 mainly because of the med applications available for it. Any new developments/news on this topic?

There's the touch search widget that is already customized for WebMD and other resources can be added as well - check this thread from the beginning.

There's MStarDict with a lot of medical dictionary databases: http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...6&postcount=18 and you can add new ones if you find.

The internet is full of .chm and PDF books but unlike the appstore, no one bothers packing them into "apps" so you can just copy them over and open them with a viewer of your choice.

I am a psychiatrist and use it mostly to get a escape from all my nagging patients!

I have a buddy with Web MD installed.

It's the most fluffy, cornball, piece of turd one could imagine.

Hey pomer, have your sister look for something that has java websphere since that would be my first choice.

But yeah, definitely not an iphone.

Not that there's anything wrong with having one, but the med apps for it are fluffy cake.

Hi there,

I use Uptodate on the web as my primary tool. It's great, if expensive.
Gtranslate is also useful on wards when translators are not available.
I feel a better office, pdf and PIM suite would make it perfect for medical work.

Please keep developing for this platform!

Those aren't programs, they're databases that contain dictionary definitions.

The programs that use them are Qstardict and Mstardict.
