@sachin: are you sure that's directed at me, not jaysire?
I like N900's UI just fine. Most current multitasking 'smartphone' OS just juggle between 4 main areas:
- Applications view (when running an app)
- Application list view
- Application switcher view
- Dashboard/Home screen of some sort, to hold widgets and whatnot
+ quick launcher (speed dial, favorite apps, etc)
I may prefer Android's way of combining their dashboard & app list, but that's kind of a minor gripe.
What I primarily find lacking in Nokia's execution of N900's release is mostly on with their handling of 3rd party developers and their marketplace.

Well i do agree on that. But remember that maemo 5 is pretty new to the market. The apps will definitely come. I personally think the iphone's closed wall system will not stay for long. With QT and multi platform applications there will be a large selection of apps. Apple used its OS X to make iphone os and the advantage is slowly being nullified by android and nokia with new operating systems.
Lets see what happens.

Don't get me wrong, I love my N900, the way a mother loves her horribly disfigured, but freakishly strong kid. I just don't think we can quite afford to laugh at Apple, considering what the N900 is capable of delivering right now as a whole package...
