besides Updates..
1) welcome aboard!

2) take it SLOW. I would not overclock for quite some time. In fact, I have not overclocked mine.

3) learn how it works

4) discover the wonder of backup. And restore.

5) if you are going to fsck with it, learn how to flash using the flasher command line tool.

6) remember 4.

7) have a ball. Try not to put your eye out.

Probably one of the biggest problems on this forum is newbies joining and jumping in at the deep end installing dangerous apps that clearly should have a better warning system attached and in doing so "brick" their devices so for me is to do nothing with your new device untill you have read up on all the problems that are happening simply because user don't understand enough and does not have the knowledge to play without having disastrous results resulting in "help me" posts.
So untill you have done your homework DON'T INSTALL NOTHING untill your sure of the consequences.

Yes i agree with you but the N8 will not be as "fragile" installing apps etc as it does have a solid os unlike the N900.
For me i will have both but there again you will never see me post a "help me" thread because i did my homework first before i attempted anything.

Your a noob in my estimation simply because of the comments your making instead of trying to understand, typical of someone who jumps in without doing there homework first
Anyhow enough comments and let the thread go and at least try to understand some people have a meaning behind their words !.

Just because your having a hard time on the thread you started "My girlfiend accused me of cheating because I play with my N900 so much" don't give you the right to flame so i suggest you stop or you might just get reported by someone

Update to PR 1.2

Just look at http://www.octofish.net/bugjar/ to track how close we are to the 1.2PR.

Look and compare with history you will see we are pretty close.
