Sorry about the things I overlook when on autopilot! "filename" is tvcatchup.sh
I think I am awake now
I edited my post to better reflect the commands I used on my N900.
As far as your next post, the script only installs 2 files. If the tar command fails there is nothing to really undo. Exactly what messages / errors do you get at each of the steps?

That is fantastic news. It is better to have it working straight from the browser than having a separate "app" (unless you are an iPhone user, of course).

Tvcatchup is now running a low stream beta version for those not prepared to try this method......gotta say a big thanks and well done for taking this on. One of my favourite sites is tvcatchup and the flash limitation has been driving me round the bend.

Yes tvcatchup only works in th uk because we pay for the licensing for the freeview channels.

Same as we can not view streams from certain american websites. Altho i have read in places that by enabling a proxy for another contry you can sometimes fool them into allowing you to view.

got this working but it freezes and cuts out every 10 seconds or so and is out of sync, looking at the xterminal it shows the bytes downloaded but after a few downloads it says 0 bytes downloaded.
any ideas its the same on wifi and 3.5 g.
the low bandwith version has also disapeared.

Are you using the latest version? The original script stored the downloaded files in /tmp, which has so little space that it can fill up quite easily, and you would then get precisely those symptoms. So try re-downloading the tarball from post #1.
