In this subforum all I can do is report for closure like everyone else. Done.

90% of people that come here with problems always get help no matter the approach.

The ones that don't get help are the ones that turn a request for help into a bash Nokia thread and that only happens because no problem is actually stated and the thread goes off topic, very much like this one.

The bash Nokia is the problem. Dont feed into it and help all you can or shut them down.

Why donīt you put it from phone settings (phone appīs top bar) to portrait mode so that it turns only then when you open keyboard.

how long it takes to load certain applications such as images.
Here you might be right. Image gallery app is not smooth as you expected it to be, but have you tried to move some images from phone and move them back.

verry strange. I was extremely happy with my E71 and E72 but as with all other devices I got boored
Bored? Iīm sorry but i have really really hard time of understanding people who buy highly expensive electronics just because they are bored on old one. Yes itīs free choice but whatta heck really?

And about boring...N900 is probably far away from that. If you are into coding you can have lots of fun with it.

and descited to go for Nokias flagship device and man was I gitty when I first received this phone. Talk about "eye candy".
This is not flagship my darling.

So I'm not here to ask for solutions on my problems I'm just letting everyone know about my experience with the N900.

I will keep an eye out though for the Meego device
Hmm...Iīm sorry but your description of so called experiences reveal quite much about yourself not exactly about N900.

We need a giant thread/sub forum of disappointment.
These complaints are real, they need a place to vent.

You're doing much better astroturfing your own community than any hired guns.

I can see value in the first part. Rhetorical question: does tmo HAVE to be the place?

And I disagree with the latter, especially since it's only natural for people to defend the status quo. In this case, of course, that's Maemo devices. That seems to be forgotten sometimes...

I first came to this site from the same angle as the OP, but have found answers to many of my problems with my N900 by untangling these threads.

That would've been far easier if the more vocal (verbose?) amongst us would either STFU or just offer simple, practical help. All this fighting blocks the flow of useful info.

This thread has now run to 5 pages and turned from what was quite obviously a plea for help (or why else bother posting?) into a *****-slap between members who should (and I think do) know better.

Hidden withing all that I have managed to glean a couple of nuggets of info that might now improve my N900 experience - so thank to those involved.

To the OP:

Many of us sympathise with your experience. There are the answers to many of your problems in this forum and plenty of helpful people despite what you've seen in response to your post.

Dig around a bit, read up and have a play with your your N900. For ordinary non-developer mortals like me this device is all about learning and being in at the start of something new. We are many.

N900 is not perfect, but the potential here is immense and this community will carry the device forward for years to come even if Nokia do not.

There is nothing else like the N900 and Maemo.org and no reason to get bored if you get involved with your N900.

If that's not for you I respectfully suggest you go back to E72 as it is a competent and mature business tool. Less frustrating, more complete, but nowhere near as engaging as N900
